My anniversary on #bookstagram is coming up and I thought that the best way to commemorate it is to start my very own Medium blog. A very warm welcome to those of you coming over from Instagram and those of you randomly stumbling across this space.

You will find here the ramblings of my mind, my thoughts, opinions and analyses of the books I read, the trends I see, and posts on my reading experiments. If any caption on my Instagram page promises greater breadth and depth on a topic, this is where you will find some.

Why should you read me, you may be wondering. If you are here from Instagram, you already know why. If not, then I hope to enrich your reading experience by giving you book recommendations from diverse genres, tips on being a more discerning and conscientious reader. Here’s a space where you can find out about themes and issues covered in the books I read whether or not you want to read them.

As the name budgetreader reflects, my focus is to make reading more accessible to us all, regardless of our financial background. Being a minimalist, I have a great interest in distilling reading down to the essentials of the experience minus the materialistic trappings that a collectible hobby can take on.

If you enjoy all things books, then I hope you will have a fun ride!
